OK, i've noticed your use of "youre" for "eure"
eure, deine, usw. are called "possessive" - the possessive in english is your... you're is an abbreviated version of "you are"
so "Thanks for youre letter and youre nice invitation" would really mean "Thanks for youre letter and you are nice invitation

Thanks for your letter and your nice invitation. Daniel was really happy when I showed him the letter. He would love to come to Issaquah. The summer holidays begin at the end of July. Maybe we could book a flight for the beginning of August. It's really nice that Daniel can visit his american relatives. For Daniel it's a little bit strange, that he has cousins whom he doesn't know. Daniel has been learning English at school for three years. English, actually never was his favourite lesson, but hopefully that will change soon.

I use http://dict.leo.org for translating words online, so I don't have to look into a dictionary all the time. That's much easier

I just discovered this thread and I really like it that finally somebody created it.
I've read "Robinson Crusoe" in English and I found it very boring, but that has nothing to do with the english language which I like very much.
And I also read "The murder book" from Jonathan Kellerman, it was a present for my 17th birthday and I really enjoied reading it because this author creates interesting characters and a very good setting. And the story itself was full of action but it still succeeded in being intelligent.
Also I love the short stories of E.A. Poe. I've read "The raven" and "The pit and the pendulum" and I found them just great, nearly perfect.
In the future I want to read some more books in english maybe "The lord of the rings" or some novels written by Stephen King, whose books I really admire and I think it'll be fun to read them in the language in which they have been written originally.
My marks in English are between A and B, the same in French, in German it's between B and C.
I hope everyone understands what I've written and please tell me if I've made some mistakes because no one is perfect and that is good so.

the only error i could pick up on was "tell me if I did some mistakes" - it should be "tell me if I've made some mistakes"
I've not read those books... but if you want to read a funny english book, I think maybe Bridget Jones' Diary.

- that's a bit sterotypical - i usually bath every other evening... but I wash in the morning. My mum has a bath every morning & every night... but there are people that never have baths... as for water... it isnt *that* expensive... if you have a water meter, then it is expensive, but some houses like ours, you pay a fixed amount per month regardless of the amount of water you use, which is better since my mum baths so much Thankyou for the welcoming. "Welcome here to this forum" or another english word for a forum is "boards" - "Welcome to the boards"

A dictionary that is german words being translated to english words, then the other half is english being translated to german is called a "2 way dictionary" in england...
a "dictionary" is the term used if it's just a book with english words, defining (explaining) what they mean...

Yes, I do the same, but I collect the DVD-Boxes of Buffy. And I love to watch the original episodes in english, because the german synchronization is very bad.

I phoned my school today. They told me to come to the secretary(Seketeriat) at first school day to look out in what group i have to go to... so, i have to stand up more earlier i thought to get a good place to sit... you know?
It's terrible!
But today i eat in a restaurant: wow, what kind of thing

OK, i've noticed your use of "youre" for "eure"
eure, deine, usw. are called "possessive" - the possessive in english is your... you're is an abbreviated version of "you are"
so "Thanks for youre letter and youre nice invitation" would really mean "Thanks for youre letter and you are nice invitation

Thanks for your letter and your nice invitation. Daniel was really happy when I showed him the letter. He would love to come to Issaquah. The summer holidays begin at the end of July. Maybe we could book a flight for the beginning of August. It's really nice that Daniel can visit his american relatives. For Daniel it's a little bit strange, that he has cousins whom he doesn't know. Daniel has been learning English at school for three years. English, actually never was his favourite lesson, but hopefully that will change soon.

I really think it´s a good thing to have english-speaking persons here. First it makes the board more international and that´s good, ´cause I think this board is so great help to Sims gamers that it could also be very helpful to people from other countries. Second point (I´m too lazy to look up in my english book if this the right way to say what I mean or not, but I will care after my grammer later) is that speaking a little bit english is useful for all of us, ´cause practise to speak english never is a wrong thing to do.
I hope you enjoy your time here and get not tired so soon of correcting all our mistakes. Thanks for your help,

the only error i could pick up on was "tell me if I did some mistakes" - it should be "tell me if I've made some mistakes"
I've not read those books... but if you want to read a funny english book, I think maybe Bridget Jones' Diary.
I'm going to correct it soon.
I saw some parts of the Film about Bridget Jones (the german version) and I found it nice. The next time I go to a book-store I'm going to look for the book maybe I find it. If I find it, I'm gonna tell you if I liked it or not.
